Funding opportunities

At Health Forward, we support our partners through open and invitation-based funding opportunities, while also supporting emerging opportunities.

People Funding Opportunities

In 2023, we will provide invitation-based funding to organizations that collectively provide whole-person care across the community health system from prevention to treatment to recovery and advocacy.

We will also continue to fund the Kansas City Health Equity Learning and Action Network to support participating organizations’ action and learning that advances antiracism, equity, community, and humanity into our regional health ecosystem.

Power funding opportunities

Health Forward is supporting capacity-building efforts for nonprofits in our service area.

This summer, we released an open funding opportunity for organizations that have Black, Indigenous, or Latino leaders and focus predominantly on communities of color. The funding opportunity was also available to nonprofits focused on rural areas and communities.

We look forward to announcing these partners later this fall.

Place funding opportunities

Throughout 2023 we will provide invitation-based grants to organizations working to:

  • Improve access to broadband and the equipment and skills to use it effectively
  • Improve access to safe and affordable housing and homeownership

Platform funding opportunities

Health Forward is supporting equity, inclusion, and anti-racism work for predominantly white-led or governed organizations working with and serving Black, Indigenous, or Latino communities.

This summer, we released an open funding opportunity for organizations whose leadership or boards are predominantly non-Latino white. Funding will support learning about — and growing accountability for — equity, inclusion, and anti-racism practices.

We look forward to announcing these partners later this fall.
