Kansas City, MO — Health Forward Foundation has awarded 11 nonprofit organizations a total of $165,000 in grants to ensure that Missourians are informed about the opportunity to enroll, and that organizations are able to quickly and efficiently assist the newly eligible Medicaid enrollees.
“As soon as Missourians voted to extend lifesaving care to more than 275,000 people last August, we began collaborating to ensure everyone newly eligible was aware and had access to enroll in Medicaid,” said McClain Bryant Macklin, Health Forward Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives. “We’re excited to partner with organizations that have demonstrated trusting relationships with the people we are trying to reach with this opportunity.”
Missourians seeking enrollment assistance can also find local support at CoverMissouri.org.
Partnerships prioritize Missouri Medicaid expansion education and enrollment efforts that:
- Provide information about who is newly eligible to qualify for Medicaid
- Provide timely and accurate information and resources about opportunities to enroll in Medicaid in Jackson, Cass, and Lafayette counties and KCMO (including portions of Clay and Platte counties)
- Enhance organizational capacity to enroll newly eligible potential enrollees
