Kansas City, MO — The Health Forward Foundation (Health Forward) has awarded 27 nonprofit organizations a total of $4.3 million in 2015 Safety Net Health Care funding. These grants support strengthening safety net health systems to provide improved physical and oral health care to the underserved and uninsured.
“Health Forward is proud to support these organizations that are working to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to a strong safety net system that delivers high quality health and oral health services that result in better health, better care and lower costs,” said Bridget McCandless, M.D., President/CEO of Health Forward.
In May 2015, Health Forward released its Safety Net Health Care Requests for Proposals (RFP). The Foundation received a total of 55 proposals totaling approximately $11.6 million in requests.
