Health Forward awards $3.4 million in final round of Healthy Communities Grants

Kansas City, MO — Health Forward Foundation is proud to award $3.4 million in grants to 37 nonprofit organizations through a final round of Healthy Communities funding.

In January, Health Forward announced a new purpose plan and the conclusion of its previous funding focus areas. During the transition, these grants offer continued support to organizations that were awarded Healthy Communities funding in 2020 and 2021.

“We are proudly celebrating everything our Healthy Communities partners have accomplished,” said Qiana Thomason, Health Forward President/CEO. “We know the next phase of our health equity journey would not be possible without their essential work.”

In the future, Health Forward will pursue health equity by supporting both direct health services and new initiatives related to racial equity and economic inclusion. Specific details about accessing new funding will be available later this fall.
