Virtual Town Hall: Making Sense of the Census

September 23, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

We are proud to partner with Black Excellence KC and the Jackson County (MO) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, on an opportunity for people to freely ask questions and get more information on the 2020 Census and how Census information can and cannot be used.

Historically, underrepresented and underserved populations, and particularly individuals of color, in the Kansas City area have been hesitant to complete the census out of concern that the information will lead to negative consequences for them or their household.

Incomplete counts have led to fewer government dollars in communities of color for programs like Medicaid, Head Start, WIC, free and reduced lunch, and other essential programs that support public schools and public services.

This is a free and safe opportunity for people who are hesitant to complete the Census to ask any questions they may have.

More information on the Census can be found online at mycensus2020.gov or by phone at 844-330-2020.

This is a free, virtual event. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
