KANSAS CITY, MO – The Health Forward Foundation (Health Forward) approved $474,576 in applicant defined grants to support organizations who strive to eliminate barriers to quality health and promote healthy lifestyles.
Health Forward concedió las siguientes subvenciones:
$75,000 to The Children’s Mercy Hospital for the TIES (Team for Infants Endangered by Substance Abuse) Program, which provides comprehensive home-based services to pregnant and postpartum women and their families affected by alcohol and other drugs and /or HIV.
$74,551 to Synergy Services to provide therapeutic services at the SafeHaven Domestic Violence Center to help build the attachment between mothers and children who are recovering from the effects of domestic violence.
$55,025 to the United Way of Greater Kansas City to connect low-income families with a health care advocate.
$50,000 to the Black Health Care Coalition to implement “Unlocking Your Potential” in two middle schools in Kansas City, Missouri to help youth build leadership skills, conflict resolution skills and parental engagement.
$50,000 to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas to provide in-home health interventions for at-risk newborns, including postpartum and preventive care visits and basic supplies support.
$50,000 to Redemptorist Social Services Center to provide emergency shelter, utility, food, clothing, transportation and medical expenses for low-income individuals.
$50,000 to Seton Center Family and Health Services for its project Sustaining Families in Critical Times.
$42,000 to Oral Health Kansas to provide operational support for its advocacy efforts on behalf of low-income individuals with oral health needs.
$28,000 to the Health Partnership Clinic of Johnson County to fund a bilingual intake coordinator to better facilitate the enrollment of new patients into the clinic’s medical home.
In 2009, Health Forward will fund a total of $4 million in Applicant Defined Grants (ADG). Proposals are accepted and reviewed monthly. This month, Health Forward received 43 requests totaling nearly $2.4 million in grants.
