Health Forward awards $4.25 million in Mental Health grants

Kansas City, MO — The Health Forward Foundation (Health Forward) has awarded 26 nonprofit organizations a total of $4.25 million in 2016 mental health funding. These grants provide direct mental health services to adults and children and work to integrate behavioral and physical health care.

“These organizations provide equitable, evidence-based or informed services to help the uninsured and underserved receive needed behavioral health services. We are proud to support them in our effort to eliminate barriers and promote quality health,” said Bridget McCandless, M.D., President/CEO of Health Forward.

In February 2016, Health Forward released its Mental Health Requests for Proposals (RFP). The Foundation received a total of 68 proposals totaling more than $12.4 million in requests.
