Health Forward awards $4.25 million in Safety Net grants

Kansas City, MO — The Health Forward Foundation (Health Forward) has awarded 29 nonprofit organizations a total of $4.25 million in 2016 safety net funding. These grants provide improved access to physical health care and oral health care.

“When people have access to affordable, high quality health care their health outcomes improve. Ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to these services requires a strong safety net health care system. We are pleased to support programs that deliver high quality health and oral health care services resulting in better health, better care and contained costs through improvements,” said Bridget McCandless, M.D., President/CEO of Health Forward.

In May 2016, Health Forward released its Safety Net Requests for Proposals, and received a total of 51 proposals totaling more than $11.6 million in requests.
